Hi Dr Fawcett,
Things are good at Bloomberg. I am currently a technical lead for a project and its a very different experience than coding. I am able to experience how the ghosts of the mythical man month can become a reality :). Technically I am working mostly on C++ and using a lot of XML and UNIX system primitives.
Challenging problems come by here on a regular basis for e.g. we need to write systems that can handle really heavy real time loads.
I do meet other SU ppl, specifically Sudhir (Srinivasan), Praveen and a few others. Everyone is doing well AFAIK.
I'd be happy to help out the person you mentioned. You can give him this email, no issues whatsoever with that.
Hope you're doing well,
Regards, Sid.
