Construct.txt ==================== Demonstrating MsgPassingComm (now set as default) 1. Set MsgPassingComm Properties: - general tab: set Configuration Type as Application (exe) - Select C/C++ > Preprocessor > Preprocessor Definitions > noTEST_COMM 2. Set MsgPassingComm as startup project - view sending messages and files 3. I set filesending blocksize to 1024 bytes for demo. You may wish to set it higher, perhaps 262144 bytes. Demonstrating MT1Q2 - Project #3 demo using threads instead of Processes: 1. Build MsgPassingComm as static library with noTest preproc 2. Set MT1Q2 properties: - general tab: set Configuration Type as Application (exe) - Select C/C++ > Preprocessor > Preprocessor Definitions > no project defs 2. Set MT1Q2 as startup project - view msg flow for Client, TestHarness, and Testers Building Peer1 and Peer2 This part describes how Peer1 and Peer2 were constructed. 1. Create an empty solution in your working directory 1. Add C++ windows console applications Peer1 and Peer2. 2. Copy the folder CppCommWithFileXfer from Project2HelpF2018 or from Handouts\Repository\Cpp\CppCommWithFileXfer. 3. Load the projects for FileSystem, Message, MsgPassingComm, Sockets, and StringUtilities. 4. Build them all as static libraries - make sure you change TEST_PPP to noTEST_PPP in Properties > C/C++ > Preprocessor > Preprocessor Definitions 5. Make references to all of them in your Peer1 and Peer2 projects. 6. Now add code in the Peers to send and receive messages and files. 7. This demo shows the results of doing that.
